Eric Johnson Home Page.

. . Brief Family History

I will start with myself: My name is Eric Johnson I was born in Minnesota in the 1960's

I grew up in Cottage Grove, Minnesota with four brothers and one sister. One of my biggest dreams was to become a great astronomer or a scientist of some sort. I had lots of big dreams growing up. They did not all come true, but the things that happen in our lives are wonderful just the same. I did not dream of being a father or a husband but it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me. When I finished high school I went to college in Ely, Minnesota. I got my associates' degree in applied science. Soon after graduating I went to Alaska to work for my uncles on an oyster farm. Boy, did I like living up in Alaska! Weather it is destiny or wanting to be home, something drew me back to Minnesota. I met my wife in an art class in 1988 and she has not left my life since. We got married in 1989, then moved up to Alaska. We had are son, Jordan in 1992 and then soon moved back home to Minnesota. We had our daughter, Victoria in 1994. Our daughter's name came from the town in Minnesota that we drove through to reach my wife's parents' home. And now, in 1997 my family and I live in Norwood, Minnesota. We are living a happy life.

My mom, Arley May Tirrell was born in May in the 1940's. Because her dad was a pilot, they didn't stay in one place for very long. Arley has two brothers Troy and Tim and one sister Terry. Arley now lives in Minnesota.

My grandfather Pax was born on December 8, 1917 in New Troy, Michigan. Pax was married to Lola Jean Honey Peever* on August 30, 1940. Honey was born on October 4, 1921 in Eau Claire, Michigan. Pax died in Memphis, Tennessee in April of 1980. This is what my mom says about Pax Tirrell…

My great grandfather was born Leslie Livingston Tirrell on January 21, 1879 in New Troy, Michigan. Without a formal education, Leslie became an inventor, a writer and a scientist. According to my mom, he was more on the lines of a mad scientist and inventor. One of the things he was working on was a youth machine using magnet fields. My mom said his hair was actually turning from gray back too black. Leslie married Arley May Crawford. This is what Terry recalls about Arley, "Arley May Crawford died when my father was about 16 of consumption, which I believe is TB. Arley was born in Ireland, I think. She had 9 kids, one of whom died by drowning when he was 8 or 9. He was younger than my father, I think." . Leslie died on July 28, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was put to rest in New Troy, Michigan.

My Great, Great, Grandfather Hosea B. Tirrell, was born in Mass. and moved to New Troy, Michigan. He had a grocery store in New Troy called "The Center of the World". The unusual name came from a notion Hosea had, the quote follows;

"That where ever someone was AT THAT TIME, that was the center of their world, and right then they were in his store, so that made IT the CENTER OF THE WORLD."

Hosea married Laura JaneWilliamson that's all I know for now …Until know

Allot has happened since the last time I updated this page A cousin of my moms who had seen my page happened to have a family tree He sent it to me and it contained allot of information I was able to go back 6 more generations! At about the same time this happened A far-removed relative of mine contacted me over the Internet His name was Lee Drew we are tied to William Tirrell and Abigail Pratt. 10 generations removed from me He has is own web site you can find it on my Information page. A another relative of mine

Zac Tirrell contacted me He had told me he just was showing his grandmother, Norma Tirrell, some stuff on how to work her internet. I chose Tirrell as a search word, and lo and behold, I found your web page outlining your family. Since I was then curious, I looked up some of them in my book, and found that you are indeed part of my ancestry.

If you are interested in a republication of the Tirrell book? Contact Zac Tirrell zach@tirrell.com.With as many updates of lineage as we all can find? Well, if you are interested, Zac came up with ths idea since He i s in contact with relatives of the original author and I am sure Zac can get permission to do a third edition from them. Two problems present themselves. One is the cost of publication, which I hope we can all cover by paying for our books. Second is finding people to help compile new additions to the lineage. If anyone wants to help, or has someone in there family without e-mail who wants to help please give me names addresses and phone numbers. Any of work that anyone is williung to do will make this project easier, if your interested. Thanks
